This giant structure is easily visible from Interstate 80, and it has three separate areas that do a good job of recreating desert habitats from North America, Africa, and Australia. A quick trip down the stairs or the elevator from the Desert Dome will take visitors to the Kingdoms of the Night exhibition, which includes nocturnal animals from around the world. There’s also an impressive aquarium where visitors can view sharks and other aquatic animal life swimming in a tank above them.
No list of what to see in Omaha, NE, should omit the College World Series. The city has been home to this sports spectacle since way back in 1950. Originally, the CWS, which is one of the top Omaha events each year, took place at Rosenblatt Stadium, but since 2011, the national champions have been crowned at the 24,000-seat TD Ameritrade Park. Those who are looking to watch professionals play can also enjoy a visit to Omaha. The Omaha Storm Chasers play in nearby Papillion as a member of the AAA Pacific Coast League.

Those who enjoy trains or American history will most likely enjoy the Union Pacific Railroad Museum, which is one of the top things to do in Council Bluffs, which sits just across the Missouri River from Omaha proper.
